Shipping and Fulfillment Associate

Description:

Purpose: Manage workflow to ensure Sea Bags orders are filled to the highest standard within 24-48 hours.

Scope: Effectively coordinate with team members and internal production groups for order shipping and fulfillment including all wholesale, retail and corporate orders. Assist retail and production during busy seasonal periods. Work at annual trade shows and other outreach events.

Basic Function:

Verify and maintain records on incoming and outgoing shipments. Prepare items for shipment. Duties include assembling, addressing, stamping, and shipping merchandise or material; receiving, unpacking, verifying and recording incoming merchandise or material; and arranging for the transportation of products.

Responsibilities:
  • Pull/pick orders in preparation for packaging to ship.
  • Package orders for shipment in a timely fashion.
  • Maintain orders and shipments in a neat, orderly and safe manner.
  • Prevent order errors by reviewing for accuracy.
  • Communicate with appropriate teams regarding order fulfillment or shipment delays and/or errors.
Job Qualifications

Production Assistant

Location: Portland, Maine

Description:

Purpose: Improve efficiency and organization in manufacturing; maintain raw material storage and monitor inventory levels; process and prepare repairs inbound.

Scope: Disburse daily work allotments to all in-house stitchers and prepare kits for pick up by contract stitchers, as assigned by Production Line Supervisor. Organize and maintain the raw material storage area, putting away deliveries on receipt and replenishing WIP hardware bins as needed. Organize and maintain stock kitting shelf and overflow. Enter incoming repairs into Shipworks and prepare items for repair as needed (e.g. ripping seams, clipping whipping twine, changing rope handles). This position works closely with the Production Line Supervisor to support planning and efficiency in manufacturing and requires a flexible individual who can move quickly between diverse tasks with accuracy and efficiency.

Basic Function:

  • Delivering kits to in-house sewing stations and preparing kits and materials for contract stitchers; requires physical endurance.
  • Stocking and organizing raw materials, keeping the area clean and the shelves accessible; requires some lifting.
  • Organizing stock kitting shelf and overflow to improve visibility of contents and accessibility of same.
  • Enter repair orders in Shipworks and physically prepare items for repair as needed.

Responsibilities:
  • Implementation of daily sewing plan.
  • Maintenance of raw materials to ensure accessibility and efficiency.
  • Oversee stock kits storage with a focus on visibility and accessibility.
  • Timely and accurate in-processing of repairs and repair paperwork.
  • Other production support tasks as necessary.
Job Qualifications

Must Requirements (including any physical requirements):

  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, with the capacity to work independently and with a sense of urgency.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Proficiency with Windows OS.
  • Familiarity with Google file sharing.
  • Must be able to regularly lift, carry, or move 25 pounds unassisted when delivering sewing assignments and occasionally lift, carry, or move 50 pounds unassisted when stocking raw materials.
  • Must be able to regularly bend, stoop and/or crouch and work from various heights.

Production Associate

Description:

Purpose: To coordinate and assemble materials for producing high-quality products.

Scope: The Kitting Associate works in collaboration with team members to efficiently assemble various materials according to standard production operations.

Basic Function: Performs a variety of tasks to assist in the production of high-quality products.

Responsibilities:
  • Kit sail panel based on specifications and design.
  • Maintains 99% accuracy of average production on assembly line.
  • Assist in stocking raw material and housekeeping.
  • Perform tasks as assigned from time to time by any manager.
  • Participate in inventory count periodically.
  • Responsible to locate, identify and verify, pull and count sail panels required for production kits.
  • Meet production levels, output, cycle times, work in process and quality standards to meet the requirements necessary to achieve on time delivery, quality and overall shipment goals.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, compliant and organized manufacturing environment, while ensuring compliance with all safety requirements.

Scope of Job

Provides exemplary and knowledgeable service in supporting all Sea Bags customers and visitors. Maintains relevant product knowledge and stays current on new product introductions, collections, and third-party products. Is knowledgeable of all point of sale functions and efficiently processes customer transactions. Ensures all customers and visitors are asked to provide his/her email address. Is knowledgeable and encourages customer engagement in attempting to sell custom order bags or totes using the iPad station. Supports all social media directives and promotions. Supports company sail trade program.

Basic Function

Provides exceptional customer service, brand and product knowledge in selling Sea Bags products and accessories.

Job Responsibilities
  • Acknowledge and openly greet all customers and visitors in sharing the Sea Bags brand story.
  • Proactively assists all customers and visitors with his/her questions and purchases providing appropriate selling techniques including up selling each item selected.
  • Be a driving force behind the Sea Bags brand.
  • Expert on product knowledge by keeping current on all new collections as well as core product lines.
  • Strong user of the point of sale system.
  • Proactively communicates sail trade program to all customers and visitors.

Warehouse Assistant

Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Equipment operations and maintenance
  • Assist in receiving, storing, and moving sails
