Is Every Sea Bag MadeWITH RECYCLED MATERIALS?

When people discover Sea Bags, they are often amazed to learn that every bag we create is made from recycled sail cloth. Our vibrant and creative designs, including intricate appliqué and prints, often prompt questions about the materials used. But the truth is, all our products are crafted exclusively from upcycled sail fabric, and this commitment has been a mainstay of our business since day one.

To validate our sustainability claims, we partnered with GreenCircle, an internationally recognized, third-party certification organization. Their rigorous evaluation process offers unbiased, independent verification that our products and operations align with sustainability standards. The GreenCircle Certified mark provides the assurance that our products are genuinely made from recycled content, setting a high standard for accountability.

A Brand You Can Trust

GreenCircle Certified for Recycled Content

In June 2021, Sea Bags proudly became the first U.S.-based manufacturer and retailer to earn GreenCircle certification for recycled content. We are honored to be featured among the "Brands You Can Trust," a distinction from GreenCircle that reflects our dedication to producing environmentally conscious products.

Our GreenCircle certification confirms the following:
All Sea Bags bucket and tote bags are made from 100% recycled sail cloth.
The bag handles are crafted from high-quality virgin rope, produced in the United States.

Beth Greenlaw, Chief Executive Officer of Sea Bags, expresses her excitement about the certification. "We've always prioritized sustainability, and this third-party validation reinforces our commitment to transparency," says Beth.

"Achieving Green Circle certification for our flagship products was a major accomplishment, but we understand the importance of backing up our claims with proven, substantiated proof. The certification process was extensive, but it was worth it, not only for our customers' peace of mind but also for the future growth of our company. We're eager to pursue further authentication and certification of our sustainable practices in the future."

As we continue our sustainability journey, we are focused on continual improvement and optimization. While the initial certification process was a significant undertaking, it is only the beginning. We commit to a constant pursuit of optimization for our sustainable production practices to further reduce our environmental impact.
