Content Marketing and SEO/SEM Specialist

Job Description:

The qualified candidate will have a broad understanding of print and online advertising. The Marketing Specialist & Production Lead will facilitate account management with our advertising partners and drive the efficient scheduling of work while maintaining strict deadlines. 

Functions and Responsibilities

Advertising
  • Support VP of Marketing in online marketing strategies and tactics working with Marketing agency. Specifically supporting paid search, social advertising.
  • Analyze campaigns and translate data into recommendations and plans for social media, content marketing, and SEO strategies.
  • Contribute as an active member of the Social Media Team on Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter and Instagram platforms for both brands. Make recommendations on tactics, execute posts and benchmark competitors and marketplace. Also participate in extensions into other social properties as they develop.
  • Manage the development and upkeep of the Promotional Calendar.
  • Support the Sales Team and Sail Trade group in Trade Show and Boat Show events in coordinating assets, giveaways, and managing email name collection. Also coordinate production and updates to marketing materials needed.
  • Marketing liaison for tourism and retail chamber associations and events.
  • Manage advertising promotion of syndicated content using Outbrain.
  • Complete forms, prepare change of address records, and make notes on customer records using computers.
  • Contribute to website and email testing.
Content Marketing
  • Development and execution of content strategies to grow our business, including defining goals, objectives and plans for execution.
  • Develop the editorial calendar for the Blog, Telltales. Generation of original & curated blog posts, converted into social media updates, coupled with the understanding of how to communicate in ways that inspire, educate, encourage action, drive brand awareness, loyalty and increase engagement.
  • Copywriting for Blog and content pages used throughout various marketing as well as managing content development by copywriters as needed.
  • Monitor and benchmark competitor content and modify plans and strategies to react.
  • Collaboration across teams (Marketing, Product Development, Customer Service, Retail, Wholesale/National, Sailing Trade, Sailing Team) to brainstorm, develop, create, and promote content that appeals to customers and prospects.
  • Subject Matter Expert in Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and its application in content writing; apply those principles to new content, staying up-to-date on latest SEO best practices and industry news and sharing that information throughout the marketing department
  • Concept, pitch, and test story/content ideas, as well as receive assignments.
  • Assist the VP of Marketing in developing the email plans for both brands and trafficking through Basecamp.
  • Copy edit and at times, copywrite product copy for both Seasonal and Fast To Market product launches.

Requirements

  • Must be willing to work onsite in the Portland, Maine office a minimum of 40 hours weekly.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills

Job Description

Scope of Job:

This is a customer facing, entry-level position to provide balanced support to both the Sail Trade and Wholesale channels. The Sea Bags Sail Trade Program is a sustainable practice that provides our customers with Sea Bags product in exchange for the sails that they recycle with us. The Sails Acquisition Department obtains sails from a network of passionate sailors across the United States.

Departmental support will consist of order placement and tracking, sales, building relationships with new and existing customers, Excel Spreadsheet maintenance and reporting, licensing, and general administrative tasks. To begin, time will be allocated equally between departments, but is subject to change depending on the needs of the company.

Job Responsibilities

Sail Trade Responsibilities:
  • Communicate with existing customers and provide potential customers with information pertaining to the trade process.
  • Manually enter and track sail trade orders submitted by customers and member of the sail acquisition through Magento.
  • Generate UPS electronic return shipping labels for sail trade customers with sails ready to ship to the Sea Bags warehouse.
  • Assist the Portland Retail Store with walk-in sail trade customers to ensure that trades are being completed in store when able.
  • Assist the fulfillment team with the picking of product and shipping of completed sail trade orders under special circumstances.
  • Record weekly sail trade reports consistently, and maintain the sail trade database to be submitted to management on a monthly basis.
  • Assist with sail trade operations at the warehouse when needed.
  • Perform sail pickups if and when the occasion arises.
Wholesale Responsibilities:
  • Handle majority of aspects of the licensing process with University level schools
  • Keep track of royalties, fees, etc.
  • Maintain and create new relationships with buyers in the school field
  • Develop relationships with local schools focusing on fundraising opportunities for their programs
  • Expand this program to applicable schools throughout the U.S.

Job Description:

This is a multi-faceted position, responsible for Interact with customers to provide information in response to inquiries about products and services and to handle and resolve complaints, as well as coordinate repairs, returns, and exchanges.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Confer with customers by telephone or in person in order to provide information about products and services, to take orders or cancel accounts, or to obtain details of complaints.
  • Keep records of customer interactions and transactions, recording details of inquiries, complaints, and comments, as well as actions taken.
  • Resolve customers' service or billing complaints by performing activities such as exchanging merchandise, refunding money, coordinating repairs, and adjusting bills.
  • Check to ensure that appropriate changes were made to resolve customers' problems.
  • Contact customers in order to respond to inquiries or to notify them of claim investigation results and any planned adjustments.
  • Refer unresolved customer grievances to designated departments for further investigation.
  • Determine charges for services requested, collect deposits or payments, and/or arrange for billing.
  • Complete forms, prepare change of address records, and make notes on customer records using computers.
  • Obtain and examine all relevant information in order to assess validity of complaints and to determine possible causes.
Knowledge

Warehouse Assistant

Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Equipment operations and maintenance
  • Assist in receiving, storing, and moving sails
  • Operate sail laundering equipment
  • Understanding sail quality standards
  • Perform quality sort and organize as directed
  • Prepare shipment of materials as directed
  • Perform various die cutting duties as required
  • Assist in inventory counts as required
  • Operate designated light manufacturing equipment (e.g., laundry, die cutter, grommeting machine)
  • Install equipment as necessary
  • Perform routine maintenance of equipment
  • Construct and repair fixtures, equipment and facilities as requested
Cleaning/Organization
  • At least weekly, organize warehouse space to maintain a clean and neat workspace
  • Remove cardboard and trash on a daily basis
Skills and Competencies:
  • A commitment to recycling and an understanding of the Sea Bags brand
  • Ability to communicate with supervisor
  • Attention to detail to ensure accuracy
  • Knowledge of sail material is a plus
Requirements:
  • Physical ability to lift and stand for extended periods, and to move throughout the warehouse and perform all functions as set forth above
