Frequently listed as one of the top 10K road races in the US, Joan Benoit Samuelson’s TD Beach to Beacon offers a quintessential Maine experience for any runner. As the winner of Olympic gold in the first women’s marathon in 1984, and one of Maine’s most recognized athletes, Joan founded the race on the very same roads where she trained in a gesture to give back to her Maine community. This bag design honors the one-of-a-kind seaside environments runners experience during the race. Featuring the iconic Portland Headlight the beacon racers are chasing, this Essential Handbag is handmade from recycled sail cloth reinforcing Sea Bags and TD Beach to Beacon's partnership in sustainability. The collection also includes a Beach to Beacon Belt Bag.
This original Beach to Beacon 10K design will donate 20% of all sales to support this year’s race beneficiary, Best Buddies, an organization whose mission is to ending the social, physical and economic isolation of the 200 million people worldwide with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
