Heritage Gloucester Tote
Constructed in 1894 in Essex MA, the 156-foot schooner Effie M. Morrissey started her life as a fishing vessel. Her subsequent journeys include exploring the Arctic and sailing as a packet ship between the US and Cape Verde before becoming a U.S. national historic landmark. Now called Ernestina-Morrissey, she is sailing today as a teaching vessel out of New Bedford, MA.
Surviving hurricanes, icebergs, and fire, the sails of the Ernestina-Morrissey are ingrained with an adventurer’s spirit that could only be used for our limited-edition Heritage Collection. Named for the spiritual home of the ship, The Gloucester Tote recognizes the vessel’s many crews of fishermen from Gloucester, MA, during the most industrious era of the salt cod industry.
Featuring a debossed leather logo patch, antique brass clasp and keychain, and olive waxed canvas bottom, the Heritage Gloucester Tote is a practical design steeped in sailing history. Embrace the legacy of nautical resilience with every stride, as this tote brings a touch of maritime style to your journey.
