Description

The prominent and colorful identifying sail insignias are the most coveted part of the sail. In the hands of our expert artisans, these markings make our vintage baguette bags as unique as the vessels they once sailed. Conveniently carried like a handbag for day or overnight, this Vintage Red Stripes Baguette Bag also works just as well as a durable stash bag in a car or on a boat. Constructed from panels of vintage sails and finished with hand-spliced hemp rope handles and a zipper closure, each baguette is one-of-a-kind.

What are Vintage Sea Bags?

Cut from the 'sweet spot' of the sail, our Vintage selections feature mainsail insignia logos from the sails that spent their life on the water. These vintage markings can range from numbers and letters to mainsail logos and nautical shapes. Some vintage markings are popular like those of the J-boats, where some others are so rare, that we may only ever see one of its kind in our shop.

Recycled into handcrafted totes and accessories on the working waterfront in Portland, Maine, these one-of-a-kind products are durable due to the sturdy nature of the sail cloth. Because each sail is individually cut and handcrafted into the finished product, every Vintage bag is unique and irreplaceable. New bags are added weekly and there’s only one of each!

Each One-of-a-Kind Bag Tells a Story

We make sure that journey never ends. Experience the life of one particular sail, the Satana 22, from its donor Ben Ford.
