How do I clean my Sea Bag?

Most Sea Bags can be sprayed and scrubbed with a stain remover, then thrown right into the washing machine for 15 minutes. Use cold water on a gentle cycle, then air dry. There are exceptions, however, refer to the full care guide to see if your bag is machine washable.

Can I put my Sea Bag in the dryer?

No. High heat can damage the sailcloth and rope handles. Always air dry your Sea Bag by hanging it or laying it flat.

Are Sea Bags stain-resistant?

Sail cloth is tough and resists most stains, but like any fabric, it’s best to treat spills quickly. Gently blot (don’t rub) and clean with mild soap and water.

Will saltwater or sand damage my Sea Bag?

Not at all. Sea Bags are made from sails that lived on the ocean, so they’re designed to handle salt and sand. Just shake out the bag and rinse or wash as needed.

Will my Sea Bag mold or mildew?

If your bag gets damp, let it air out completely before storing. In the rare case of mildew, wash with a gentle solution of mild soap and water, then air dry in the sun.

Do the rope handles on my Sea Bag require special care?

Our handles are made from tough, nautical rope. They may soften over time with use but require no special treatment beyond periodic cleaning.

Can the leather on my Sea Bag get wet or be washed?

No. Too much water saturation can cause damage to the color, texture, and wear of the leather. It’s best to care for these details gently and with minimal scrubbing and cleaning products if spot cleaning is needed.

How long will my Sea Bag last?

With proper care, a Sea Bag will last for years. Sailcloth is designed to withstand wind, water, and sun.
