Along the Maine coast, mornings on the beach start early. This is the hour for beachcombing walking the shoreline slowly, eyes down, searching through whatever the ocean left behind overnight. Most days, it’s small things: shells worn paper-thin, lobster pot rope tangled in seaweed, stones smoothed flat by years underwater. And sometimes, sea glass.
Usually white or green. Old bottle glass softened by salt water and time. The sharp edges are gone. The surface turns cloudy and smooth, frosted by the ocean.
But occasionally, tucked between the rocks, you spot blue.
A deep ocean blue that catches the light differently from everything around it. You turn it over in your hand and wonder where it came from, how long it’s been out there, and how many tides it took to become something worth keeping.
That’s the thing about sea glass — it starts as something broken or discarded. Time reshapes it into something better.

Every sail we use has lived a full life before it reaches our workshop in Portland, Maine. These sails crossed harbors, weathered storms, sat under years of sun and salt, and carried stories we’ll never fully know.
When their time on the water ends, we stitch them into something new — handcrafted totes, accessories, and everyday pieces built to keep going. The marks stay with them.
