Caring for your Sea Bag
Sea Bags are designed to be durable and easy to care for, as well as beautiful. It's a breeze to keep your Sea Bags accessories looking great, no matter where your adventures take you.
We thoroughly clean each sail before using it to craft our products. There may be marks or slight discolorations on your bag that were gained through its former life as a working sail. These can't be removed and serve to make your Sea Bags unique and authentic.
First, identify whether it is safe to machine wash your item as certain products are not machine-washable due to special materials & features. These include:
Metallic Leather Appliqué
Leather Handles
High Performance Sail Cloth
Black or Navy Handles
Vintage Insignia
Machine Wash Instructions
Machine wash on a gentle cycle with cold water and a little bit of detergent or bleach diluted with some cold water. Hang by the handles to air dry.
Spot Clean Instructions
Using a gentle stain remover, carefully clean your Sea Bags product. For items with special features that can't be machine washed, only clean the sail cloth portion of the product. Hang by the handles to air dry.
Choosing the Right Cleaner
Because we use all recycled sail material, be careful using an abrasive brush or aggessive stain remover. We always recommend testing the cleaner on an inconspicuous area first to see how it will react to the sail material.
